I knew Paul Mac Cartney had an Aston Martin, John Lennon a Rolls Royce Ringo a Facel Vega and George an E-Type... but never saw period photos of this car. I came accross some period photos of George's E-Type and wanted to share these here :
and he was having a special option... I wonder what music he was listening to
does anyone knows /can trace if the car is still "alive" ? _________________ Philippe

Great pictures, Philippe. It looks like the car is still alive, as an enguiry with the DVLA (the UK car registration database) shows:
The vehicle details for 499 HLX are:
Date of Liability 01 07 2010
Date of First Registration 28 02 1964
Year of Manufacture 1964
Cylinder Capacity (cc) 3781CC
CO2 Emissions Not Available
Fuel Type Petrol
Export Marker Not Applicable
Vehicle Status Licence Not Due
Vehicle Colour BLACK
Vehicle Type Approval
He was a great enthusiast, often seen at the early (90s) Goodwood festivals.
I wonder where the car is now..... _________________ Mark. 65 Black Coupe, 72 Primrose OTS |
