A Designed Interior
BESPOKE SEATING AND A TAILORED CABIN
This E-Type returns from trim not as an update, but as a fully realised interior commission — one defined by custom design, fabrication and intent rather than adaptation of off-the-shelf components.
At the centre of the brief was seating. Rather than reworking existing frames, the interior was developed around bespoke, lowered seat structures, designed specifically for this car and this driver. The objective was to create a more integrated driving position while preserving the visual lightness expected of an E-Type cockpit.
Trimmed in high-quality grey leather to the client’s exact specification, the seats combine comfort, support and discretion. Heating is integrated without visual clutter, and the seat architecture incorporates cut-outs to accommodate a future conversion to a mohair soft top — a small but deliberate decision that reflects the long-term thinking behind the commission.
A CABIN DESIGNED, NOT ASSEMBLED
The bespoke approach extends well beyond the seats. Rather than adapting factory components, multiple interior elements were fabricated specifically for this car, including the rear storage area, centre console and armrest. Each piece was designed to sit naturally within the E-Type interior rather than announce itself as an addition.
Materials and finishes were selected for coherence rather than contrast. Leather, carpet and trim detailing flow consistently across seat backs, footwells, storage areas and boot, creating a cabin that feels unified and considered from every angle.
Modern functionality has been integrated quietly. An illuminated start button sits cleanly within the dash, while discreet LED lighting in the footwells, under-door areas and boot improves usability without disturbing the cabin’s tone. USB outputs and Apple charging connections are housed within the redesigned armrest, keeping technology present but visually restrained.
BESPOKE MEANS CONSIDERED
This interior was not designed to impress in isolation. It was designed to be lived with.
Every decision — from seating position to material choice — was judged by how it would feel in use, how it would age, and how naturally it would belong within the car. The result is a one-off E-Type interior that feels inevitable rather than customised.
This is bespoke trim as E-Type UK defines it: custom fabrication, tailored ergonomics and modern functionality brought together with restraint and judgement.
