Comfort Without Compromising Character
Air conditioning was never part of the original E-Type brief, but modern traffic, warmer summers and longer journeys have changed how many owners want to use their cars. For some, cabin heat and demisting become the limiting factor long before the car itself reaches its potential.
At E-Type UK, we treat air conditioning as a comfort and usability upgrade, not a cosmetic addition. The aim is not to modernise the cabin, but to make the car more pleasant and confidence-inspiring to use in real-world conditions — without disturbing the balance or atmosphere of the original interior.
Our bespoke air conditioning systems are designed specifically for the E-Type and are installed with care and restraint. Where appropriate, the system replaces the original heater unit and uses the factory ducting to deliver discreet, effective cooling and heating through the existing vents.
For owners who regularly drive in hotter climates or demanding conditions, we also offer a more powerful centre-console configuration. This replaces the radio and ashtray with a neatly integrated evaporator unit that delivers a greater volume of cooled air directly into the cabin.
As with all E-Type UK upgrades, air conditioning is considered in context. Cooling capacity, engine load and future upgrades such as fuel injection are all taken into account to ensure the system performs reliably without placing unnecessary strain elsewhere.
Air conditioning upgrades are available for all E-Type models — Series 1, Series 2 and Series 3 — and are supplied exclusively as a fitted solution by E-Type UK.
