Barn Find Gets Pulses Racing

At E-Type UK in Hadlow, Kent we're offered series of e-types that are yet to be offered to the market. The condition of these e-types can vary and the variety is vast, from early Jaguar flat floor e-types, Series 2 2+2’s and V12’s. As a Jaguar e-type restoration specialist there is very little we can’t handle, we're always interested to hear what is on the market and our E-Type UK sales department is able to handle them all, although sometimes something really special lands at our door.

Early on a Wednesday morning our E-Type UK workshop manager, Mark, took a call regarding a car for sale and if E-Type UK would be interested. Series 2 or 3 we thought, although we soon discovered the true extent of what this Jaguar E-Type was. The car was an original right hand drive Series 1 4.2 roadster, matching numbers with full documentation and as yet had not been offered to the market, indeed it had not been with the same owner since 1974.

After viewing photographic evidence of this Series 1 4.2 roadster, it was apparent that it was a true ‘barn find’, although needless to say this barn find was without the barn. Marcus, Dominic and Webbie jumped into the E-Type UK van and got up to North Wales to further investigate this Series 1, matching numbers 4.2 roadster. Arriving in North Wales the scale of the task was clear to see, the car was wedged down a dirt path with a number of other cars blocking access.

After some careful moving, we were able to get this rare ‘barn find’ Series 1, matching numbers, 4.2 roadster Jaguar e-type back to our specialist Jaguar e-type facility in Kent. We were pleased to see that the previous owner had the original log book and the car was currently showing 20,000 miles on the clock.

This car is up for sale here and should you want to discuss in more detail, do not hesitate to call 01732 852 762 or email Marcus@etypeuk.com.
