The 4.2 litre Jaguar E-type was the natural evolution of the 3.8 Series 1 Jaguar E-type, with a larger engine and more luxurious interior to make it more suitable for the American market, the 4.2 litre E-type was regarded at its time as the more refined model.

This 1965 Series 1 4.2 FHC is a sought-after UK-market car with only 3 previous owners; its first owner kept the car all the way up 2010, 30 years of which it had sat in a derelict garage. It was then acquired by an E-Type UK customer who commissioned a full, no expense spared restoration with every with us to upgrade every element of the car, to bring it up to modern standards. Therefore, the specification of this car is second-to-none; finished in its original Jaguar Heritage colours of Dark Blue with Red interior the restoration was completed over 3 years and was later sold to 60’s classic enthusiast.

To provide the ultimate E-type performance, E-Type UK actioned a performance upgrade program, specifically designed to bring out the max performance, seeing the following fitted:

• E-Type UK bespoke fuel injection system straight-six
• Rebuilt 4.2 to fast road specification
• Aluminium radiator and header tank with silicone hoses and electric fan
• Grooved and vented front discs with AP Racing 4-pot calipers
• Adjustable shocks and coilovers
• Full stainless-steel sports exhaust
• Five-speed gearbox
• Aluminium bonnet.

As well as these performance upgrades, modifications were made to improve the day-to-day usability and comfort of the car greatly. These include air conditioning, power steering, and a period-look radio with MP3 connectivity.

The E-type later changed hands to another E-Type UK customer and Jaguar enthusiasts in 2017, after a short period of enjoyment with the E-type, the customer returned to our Kent facility to safely store the E-type as the owner migrated to France. For the last 2 years, the E-type has been meticulously cared for and dry stored by the specialists at E-Type UK, now to be offered to the market ready to find a new home.

Finished in one of the greatest colour combinations to come from Jaguar and restored to perfection with no expense spared, this Coupe has been used sparingly and dry stored since its restoration. The car comes complete with its Jaguar Heritage Certificate, CD full of photos before and during restoration and various receipts. Finding another E-Type of this calibre would be a difficult task, an iconic classic brought up to modern standards to ensure only the positive aspects of classic motoring are retained.
